BBQ Chip Chop Sammie

Your favorite chipped chop ham: It can be as many pounds as you need. Typically 1lb will make enough sammies for 2-3 people depending on how high you stack it. So you be the judge. Also, I do recommend especially to the NE Ohio peeps….that if you can get yours hands on Isalys Chip Chop Ham that’s the best!
-
Your favorite BBQ sauce from a bottle. You be the judge on how saucey you want it. Typically for 1lb of CC, I’ll use approx 1/2-3/4 of the bottle depending. Naturally the more chip chop you have the more BBQ sauce you’ll want. (I see Isalys is branding their own BBQ sauce. Have not tried it yet.)
-
Next: Take your chip chop, tear it up (strips are good), and place the chip chop into a frying pan. Nothing else goes in the pan just your chip chop. Fry for approximately 10-15 depending upon how cooked you want it. I like it not only warmed up but a little crispy on the edges. Use a fork to move the chip chop around.
-
Next: Take your BBQ sauce and pour over top of your fried chip chop. Take your fork again and mix the two together so that the chip chop gets full coverage. Again, use your judgement on how much BBQ sauce you want. I usually start out light, then add more if needed as it fries. Better to add less at the beginning, then have way too much in the end.
-
Once chip chop & BBQ sauce are warmed together, approx another 3-5 minutes (you decide). Turn off your heat on the stove.
-
Take your favorite bun and pile on the BBQ chip chop. Put your top on and eat. Serve with chips of choice.
I have used this recipe for parties as well. I usually put the finished product into a crock pot and turn on low as the party is about to start. You do not want the crock pot on for the entire party, so be sure to check it now and then. Once it’s too warm for you, then turn off the crock pot, keep your lid on, and it will stay warm.
Great for left overs and can be reheated either on stovetop or microwave.
Yum!

I’ve never heard of chip chop ham! I don’t think we have any around here. I will look for it! The recipe sounds delish!
