6 more weeks of winter? That groundhog saw his shadow this morning. Ugh!
Yippee! I finished the Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet last night. My overall impression with the book is very good. It’s gruesome with barbaric savagery in a good portion of the book, but none the less the calculating shrewdness of the cast of characters and their determination makes the book an interesting read. Who knew? The book was turned into a board game. The Pillars of the Earth board game made Game of the Year 2008. I haven’t played a “board game” in I don’t know how long. Ages, has to be.
My next read is the Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. I want to read the book before the movie comes out (they speculate) sometime in June this year. With a little over 300 pages, I think I can handle that after the near 1,000 page Pillars.
I am determined to finally finish the Chinese Charm bag this weekend. I started another Irish Hiking Scarf using the hunter green Malabrigo yarn I purchased last weekend.
I don’t really have a Superbowl pick. I suppose as usual I will be rooting for the underdog. The news cast has been previewing some of expected commercials. One of which features the “What is love song” from Night at the Roxbury movie and SNL. It’s funny how when that song comes on…. its automatic to make those head-jerk moves…. Love this skit with Jim Carrey…
Have a great Super Bowl weekend!

Such a funny video!!!

Every time I go into a store and see board games I want to buy them and then sit around on the weekend drinking hot cocoa and playing just it never happens! HAHAH Hopefully you get loads of knitting done this weekend because I would really like to see your chinese charm bag.
And The Friday Night Knitting Club is a lovely book.. Well I enjoyed it anyways! I just finished reading that on Thursday, I wont say anything about it though…
I read Pillars of the Earth too and enjoyed it also although the last 400 pages of the book could’ve been condensed down a bit. I kept thinking, yeah, yeah, yeah, William is one mean dude, yadda, yadda, yadda. However, overall the book was great. I had no idea it was a board game!
