Have a cookie, a piece of fudge, then take a hike

Busy beaver this weekend! I decided to bake a few cookies and make some fudge with my KitchenAids. I *heart* you, KitchenAid. I was going to arrange a couple each of everything I made (thus far) on a plate, but did not want to come across as a little piggy, so instead here they are in lock-n-locks. Peanut butter blossoms (which I may have to make another batch, because my brother has eaten most of them already - they are his favs), sugar cookie cutouts (btw the Pillsbury doughboy decided to roll out his sugar cookie dough into 2 sheets per package and feature them in the dairy section of the store. Mighty nice, because all I had to do was open the package and do the cutting out. So smart. So simple), thumbprints (I had a little trouble with these and the thumbprints not staying down… is there some trick to it?), and last but surely made first - fudge - chocolate and peanut butter. The peanut butter fudge is not my friend Donna’s. (I miss my buddy!) Donna made the best and the most creamiest. These are close but not the same. The chocolate fudge is none other from a box mix from Carnation. If you’re in my woods, Marcs sells the kit… so easy too. I am thinking about going back to get another box because I like my fudge with nuts. I made without because my brother is not so much a nut fan. Go figure!
My friend and I were suppose to take her kids to see Fred Claus, but the freezing rain we had today kinda put a damper on things, so instead I stayed home, watched Hairspray (cute movie btw), and started another project…. involving cables! Never tried cables before, so I found a simple pattern at the Irish Hiking Along blog and decided to lace up and go for it. Oh it’s so easy… what was I thinkin’ before. It looks so intimidating…. but it ain’t nuthin’. I’m using Vanna’s choice in Dusty purple. There are other patterns on the blog for a hat and warmers. We’ll see if I might give those a go after this scarf.
Well bloggers & bloggettes that will do it for tonight. Must hop into pjs and get back to knittin’ and tv watchin’. Probably going to be watching this movie tonight. I’ve seen the commercials for it for awhile now, and cried at every one of them. My list would be pretty long, it would be a tough choice, but to have the top 6 would be pretty special.
Till we blog again…… fair the well.

Yummy…if you didn’t live so far away, I’d be heading over to your house for some treats. I made white chocolate covered pretzels with peppermint chocolate tidbits on top this weekend and gingerbread cookies. I think I gained 5 punds from sampling the goods before they were cool.
The cable looks great by the way.
how do you make good fudge?? Ive never seen a kit here and I LOVE fudge!!! Ive got the 12 days of cookies from the cooking channel something or another website in my email theres a couple on there I fancy making.
I love the way your irish hiking scarf is coming along that purple is PRETTY!
I think I will be taking a drive to raid your containers. My favs are the peanut blossoms. I had the Hershey kisses to make them too until the kids… and I mean all 3 of them LOL ate them.
Your scarf is coming along nicely. Love that color!
YUMMMMY!!!! I haven’t made any holiday sweets yet - this Sat I plan on baking all day!
Love the IHS btw. Yeah for cables!
Congratulations Andi! Your cookies look professional! I wonder, if you could freeze some? Or how long can you keep them inside tupperware? or… did your brother eat all of them?
Your cables look beautiful! You see, it´s not difficult.
