Rain Drops on Teddy Bear
August 19, 2007 by hookedonstring

Gloomy & rainy today! TG for Netflix! Fracture & Vacancy were my picks for this week - both very good. Vacancy is very much a scare. Fracture is a thriller - love Anthony Hopkins. Won’t say anymore in case someone has not seen it yet. Oh and yesterday, I finally got to see WILD HOGS! That movie is so hillarious! William H. Macy is totally a crack up. Who knew?!
After I finished watching the Wild Hog movie, it was just about that time for the Browns FB game to come on. So I watched it for the first half which was nothing but Detroit scoring (totally forgot about Brady Quinn playing and I missed his 2 TDs) so I flipped over to QVC and Marie Osmond was on with her dolls. I’m not per se a doll collector, but I like to watch to see what Marie comes out with and watch her and Mary Beth crack up laughing. (They are on again tonight too). So getting to my teddy bear… we have a pre-season charity project, Cubs for Kids, going on for Football Along and it is to knit a teddy bear sweater. I kinda knew how to do it before since it resembled the pattern I had in my beginner’s knit class at the LYS. The yarn is Bernat sport and unfortnately Michaels did not carry brown and orange for the Browns so I kinda went with colors for Ohio State…(they did not have gray so I had to go with black). Anyhow, I think it turned out cute. I did have to go back and redo the neckline a little bit because I found out this morning I did the binding off a little too tight therefore this teddy’s head wasn’t going through. So after I fixed it, it went over the head much better. There is a hat & scarf pattern to go with it, I may just do a hat. We’ll see.
This afternoon I dodged the raindrops and went up to Borders to look around. I picked up Debbie Macomber’s Knit Together book. I read a review about it somewhere, can’t remember where, and the review totally did not like it said it was nothing like her other books … well DUH .. of course it isn’t because this one is non-fictional. I feel a wee bit sorry for those who claim to read, but don’t actually READ what they are reading. Moving on, I did also pick up Paula Deens Holiday Issue of her magazine …awesome, and the Fall issue of interweave knits… also awesome!!
Well that does it for me today. I’m going to post pictures on Football Along & Ravelry.
Till next time….
