Hi ya! Been a few days since I last blogged, so I figured I would come up with a couple of things to share.
Ugh! This weight watchin’ is a pain in the kaboose. I fell off the train twice - once with the pizza as previously mentioned and then again last night at Panera Bread at the knit group. I had a turtle brownie. Shameful, but sinfully delish. Which brings me to a couple of WW foodie finds that I have recently tried and thought I would share my 2 cents. First the new Chewy Granola Bars by Curves & General Mills. There was a coupon in Sunday’s paper so I thought why not try it. I went for the strawberries and cream option. Each bar is 100 calories with 5 grams of fiber per bar (6 bars per pkg). (They do have a chocolate peanut butter version - I’ll have to try that one next time). How they rate: Thumbs up! Chewy and tasty. There has also been some new products from Weight Watchers that are really good too. Weight Watchers Snack Cakes - How do they rate: Awesome! 80 calories each (6 cakes per box) and they are wonderful. I highly recommend the Carrot Cake & Lemon Cake.. oh and why not? … the chocolate cake too. They do make muffins too (blueberry, chocolate etc). I have not tried those yet. Weight Watchers Yogurt - I’m really liking that too. Seriously so far, the weight watchers stuff is great tasting. I bring up these snacks because I became so disappointed in Nutrisystem’s snack & dessert packages. Some are ok, the rest totally BITE! So heed my warning there. My weight loss plan does not include staying on Nutrisystem forever, I’m gradually working in the Lean Cuisines and other stuff on the weekends, just enough to start shedding these pounds.
The knit group plans for the local SnP is coming along nicely. With our combined groups (which includes a local group associated with Warm Up America), we are going to have about 50 knitters & crocheters at the event! The Cleveland group had their SnP on Monday, but our group just felt the trip to Cleveland was hectic so we went with having ours at the minor league affiliate game. So, it should be alot of fun… and fireworks included!!
I have included a snippet of a project I started this morning. It’s a lace scarf (hard to tell I know) from the Knit Along with Debbie Macomber - A Good Yarn book (pg #19 for followers). It’s a hush hush secret for who I am knitting it for. … just know I’m racing against the clock to finish it fairly soon.
I joined a KAL that is coming up for the 2007/2008 football season. What the hay anyway. If football is on, I usually knit or crochet. Strange how that works…. So there you go. If you would like to join too, go to Football Along.
Oh yeah, my little baby bunny is still hanging around. So cute. I managed to get a bird feeder put up in my backyard earlier this week. We have a variety of birds that fly around my house. Now they have something to snack on in mid-flight. I put the birdfeeder up like on Monday (I think) and for 2 days it just sat there until 1 bird flew in to check it out, had lunch, and then flew off to run tell his buddies what he had found. Now everyday I have a swarm of sparrows. A couple of squirrels have figured out how to shimmie up the pole and pop-a-squat on the feeder and taking part. After a minute or two the poll starts to sway and they freak out so they jump off. Hee hee! What more do they want?? I give them peanuts for pete’s sake!!
I had a commenter who asked me what I thought of Ghost Rider (with Nick Cage), I thought is was freaky, a little pyromaniac-ish, but just an ok movie. The blue eyes were a bit dreamy though. I Netflixed and saw Freedom Writers..(Hillary Swank, McDreamy). that was about “average”. I finally did get to see Miss Potter (Renee Zellweger) (woo hoo)… and love it! I am hoping to go see some movie this weekend. Die Hard (love BW), Ratouille (for kicks), or whatelse is out there… I don’t know yet. So we’ll see.
Adios Amigos for now. I’ve got to get back to homework. Ugh!

Nice to be on diet, Andi. In Summer I can live eating just salads and fruits (Hm… and ice creams, and pizza, and beer…)
The lace scarf is looking very sweet and elegant. I had no idea Debbie McComber had such a book besides her novels.
Dieting is such a drag, isn’t it? Good thing you found some yummy treats. :o) Oh hey! I have that scarf pattern. You’re off to a great start!
The scarf is looking prety and love the pink you are using!
But then again I am a bit of a pink girl myself. WOO HOO… and wasnt Miss Potter just a beautiful movie?? I told my mom after I watched it she HAD to watch it herself. ahah
I stick to the NS chocolate crunch bars and the chocolate covered caramel popcorn. I think I’m pretty lucky I prefer sticking to the couple things I like
Doesn’t ever get boring for me.
Trader Joe’s has some insanely inexpensive 100 calorie packs as well that make awesome snacks. The chocolate chip oatmeal cookies are my fav
Pretty scarf and yarn color.
I didn’t really care for Ghost Rider that much either. It was ok, but nothing special.
I remember when I picked up the carrot cakes myself. I was so excited. But than I opened them, and I was amazed at how tiny they were. But they are super yummy…pop ‘em in the microwave for a few seconds! Yum!
I guess I am the odd one out here. I liked Ghost Rider so much I bought the dvd. Nick, Sam, motorcycle, and a horse, what more can I say.
Scarf is looking good.
