Heel flappin’ in the wind
March 6, 2007 by hookedonstring

My sock progress is lacking. I’ve been so busy lately. But today, I picked it back up again and fixed my heel flap! Woo Hoo! That’s the part up top where the stitch markers are. Oh yeah, I had to create stitch markers “one”, “two”, “three”, “four” etc so that I could keep track on which needle was which. I’m sure once I get better at socks, that maybe I won’t need the stitch markers.. but for now…they are saving me a piece of my mind. The other pieces…? well let’s not go there… LOL. Next step on this sock is to “turn the heel”. So I hope to have atleast that done before tommorrow nights knit-n-sip.
I’ve also joined a couple of CALs at Crochetville. A Sweet Pea Shawl CAL and a Fat Bottom Bag CAL. I’ve made one Sweet Pea already, but I want to make one for myself and one for a birthday gift for later in the year. The Fat Bottom - I’ll probably follow Sue’s lead and use Patons Wool. Her bags turned out so pretty!
I thought this was a neat idea. They showed it on the 5 o’clock news just a bit ago. It’s a website to help owners try and locate their lost pets. You can list any type of pet you want.. birds, fish, dogs, cats, snakes, you name it. Then it will also help you send messages to all the local shelters around to see if they have your pet or if you found a pet and are keeping it for safe keeping till the owner is found.. you can up load pictures and information there as well. I think this puts a bigger exposure out there for people who are looking for their lost pets. Losing a pet is like losing a member of the family. There is a membership to join, but I think the money is worth it. So, if you or if you know of someone that is searching for their lost pet… have them check it out… you never know.
Here’s the site: Help Me Find My Pet

You are Rock’in away on that sock! It looks great!
Wow! For a second there, I thought my Fat Bottom Bag was on the 5 o’clock news! Jeepers! But no, it’s for the pets. What a great idea! Lost pets here are only held for 3 days which doesn’t seem like very long.
Congrats on the sock! Hey, I may join that Sweet Pea Shawl Cal. Sounds fun!
Thanks you guys!
