Evening Peeps & Peepettes! I am freezing. The central air is on and I’m wearing a sweater. Oh, don’t get me wrong, I like central air but can only stand it for just a wee wittle bit. Then after that I am shiverin’ in me timbers. I definately prefer it to be warmer. Hence, I love summer.
My local Knit & Hook group is on a year-long mission to make hats, scarves, mittens etc for local charities and this past Monday we held a Charity night. I made the above wee wittles for the preemies at the hospital. For the Browns Backer …..I especially made the Browns colored hat. You see, she got on my case a couple of posts back for buying PITTSBURGH STEELER yarn. Hee Hee.
Anyways, CLICK HERE for more pictures of what our group had made for Monday night.
Movie Review: The Reader with Kate Winslet. I liked the movie. When the movie first started, I thought oh boy here we go with the B’s and the P (rhymes with TOOBS and BECKER) but as the movie takes you forward you get a sense of where this woman was coming from mentally, emotionally, etc. There’s a clencher in the middle of the movie that sets the tone for the rest and then takes a totally new direction after that. Overall: A must see if you like the dramatical, somewhat sad, love stories. Valkyrie with Cruise. I had no idea that it was a cowinky dinky that both of these movies had the same period of time. At any rate, this movie is very good too. He gets it in the end, while the other one lives (as we know) but it’s very well acted. Overall: Must see if you like war movies.
The cat is meowing about something. It must be time for late night snackin and then bedtime. God Bless him… he just sneezed. Well that’s a wrap for tonight. Gotta tend to this kid’s wants and needs.
P.s. Thanks to Kansas Crochet for the blog reward. I’ve gotta get that posted real soon!
Netflix pics are here. They came today, but I won’t get to watch them till later. They are: Pink Panther 2 (Steve “Wild and Crazy Guy” Martin) and Crossing Over (Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, Ashley Judd).

Well, slap me hands and call me a baaad blogger. It’s been awhile. It must be that nothing is going on really. I can’t imagine why else not.
Thankfully today we’ve had no rain and were able to dry again a little before more bad weather is headed here tommorrow. Yes I can hear you! Be thankful it is not snow. Yes, I am thankful.
I sound like a broken record when I say I’m still working on my 2nd monkey sock. Meanwhile, I took a left turn and decided to get “hooked on string” and made the above blanket. It’s a gift so hush, mums the word, my lips are sealed. I’m using my stash (insert loud *GASP* here), but I think I’m about to run out of the lighter pink and def the white fer sure. I can substitute the white for what I have, but the pink… eh… might need to pop in Michaels for another skein. Cross fingers they still have the #9912 that I need.
Movie Review: The International (Clive Owen): He’s hot what else can I say. The movie is true nature to bond-ish (of which really people he makes a better Bond. I wish someone out there could realize it). Anyhow, lots of shooters, glass, and bullets fly in this one, but I seemed to have bypassed all that and concentrated heavily on the dark curly hair, deep come hither eyes, and … *sigh*. Our Netflix pics did arrive already this week: The Reader (Kate Winslet) and Valkyrie (Tom “Top Gun” Cruise).
Well that’s about it for me this evening. It’s getting late and I haven’t even crocheted yet. Besides Craig is about to come on the tube. He had me laughing so hard last night that my sides were about to burst. Tootles.

It’s after 12 midnight here and I’m still awake. I’m not sure exactly why because I’m beat. We had a great night tonight at Knit & Hook. One of our group members, Lil, gave a great demonstration on broomstick lace. It’s much easier than I thought it would be. She brought in some things she made with it including a couple of squares for demonstration purposes and an rainbow afghan entirely done in broomstick. As we were all discussing earlier, we could easily see how this type of “knitting” could easily be incorporated into other things as a design feature. Cheryl mentioned it as a neat lace design on a top or knitted dress. Lil also had added a row of broomstick lace to a bag she had made to give it a really cool look. Anyhow, the demo was alot of fun. Carmen is next in July with Amigurimi… however you say that.
Well, I guess I’d better sign off. These fingers must rest before tommorrow…. back to work.

Today is sog city. We so did not need any more rain. I suppose we are to expect more of the same over the next few days until Friday where things are to clear up again for another sunshiney weekend.
Yesterday, I went to WWKIP day at Yarnia in Canton. It was fun. They had a nice, small turnout, but none the less the ladies were alot of fun. Yarnia has some great stuff too. It was hard to break away from the inside to go outside and participate in WWKIP day. I met Joe from SWTC and he had his truck full of ladies knitwear as was boasted about on Ravelry. He handed out free red tote bags and talked with us about their line of SWTC yarns. He was super nice. Above is Melissa, Yarnia’s owner, who is modeling one of the items, The Peacock’s Best Vest from SWTC. My pictures do not do it justice… it is truly stunning. The design resembles that of a mitred square pattern. If you visit www.soysilk.com, there is a better picture of a similar one (different color) with the vest opened up with a back view.
Movie Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett). L-O-N-G movie and at first seemed lacking in the beginning … maybe it was just me…. then, however, the man struck by lightening 7 or was it 8 times … seemed to add a comical spin to the movie… there is a definite shift to the movie that takes place later on as Pitt’s character grows younger. Really good movie, sad at times, but you must see it, but be prepared for 3 hours.
On tap tonight: Knit and Hook.
Adios Amigos!

Don’t these look super delish. Not my doing. But, hey you can get the real deal tommorrow, Saturday June 6th at Friendlys. They’re scoopin’ scoops from 12noon to 5pm at your local participating. I’m kinda hungry for IC now, so I’ll have to rustle up a Skinny Cow from the frig.
Sunday is WWKIP Day at Yarnia from 1pm to 4pm. My plans are to be there. I haven’t been to Yarnia in Canton for a longtime now. I just plan on lookin’ and not baggin’.
Netflix Movie Review: New in Town with Renee Zellweger. MUST SEE! What a funny movie. Renee is too funny. Harry is not so bad either… kinda easy on the eyes too. Anyhow, for a clean fun movie…. MUST MUST SEE IT. Netflix sent me The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. So, stay tuned for that review.
Have a good weekend ya’ll !

Yay! I finished the 2nd fish hat over the Memorial Day weekend. Same type of yarn was used as in the blue and orange one I made previously. This one went rather quickly since I already knew what I was doing.
My arms are so sore from this past weekend too. I planted 2 flats of pink impatients in my flower beds in the front yard and a tomato plant in a whisky barrel, and then Monday I had to clean up the patio and the patio furniture. That wasn’t as bad. The reason for the soreness is because the outside wall of alum siding was filthy, so I was out there with a bucket of soapy water washing the dirt away. Naturally, my right arm took the hit and on day 3 (today) it is still sore. I remember a time when I was younger that I used to bounce back much quicker. Those were the days.
Movie Review: The Wrestler: It was good. I thought Rourke did a great job depicting a semi-retired wrestler who’s injuries take their toll over time but somehow that is what they love to do. Beats me. With my little muscle strain at the moment, I think wrestling is pretty crazy painful. Warning. There is alot of “skin” in this flick. Tomei is brave.
Welp, that’s a wrap for today. Gotta go grab some lunch and then start to work soon. Have a great day!
